What can I expect?

This qualification will open an exciting and fast-paced career path in one of Australia’s most diverse industries – Hospitality. You will create endless possibilities through discovery and learning as you increase your operational, product and service knowledge in a customer-focused industry.

A Certificate IV in Hospitality will provide you with the essential skills to qualify and place you ahead of your competition when applying for supervisory roles in food and beverage, gaming or accommodation venues.

The leadership skills you learn will enable you to lead and manage people and teams, driving individual performance, staff commitment and positive business outcomes. You will gain the ability to understand and manage budgets, monitor financial activities to ensure cash flow and reduce cost efficiencies while improving profits and return on investment.

Upon completing this qualification, you will feel confident to plan and manage the day to day workload of your direct reports, effectively communicate business objectives and encourage collaboration to solve issues as they arise.

Not applicable.

Funding eligibility

Students must be working within the tourism or hospitality industry. Evidence may include payslips including the date and company name (without financial data) or a letter from the employer to confirm employment details.

Workplace practical
requirements

Students who are not currently working within a hospitality service role must undertake a minimum of 36 service periods (or shifts) of volunteered vocational placement in an approved workplace to complete their qualification. For more information, click here or call one of our friendly crew on

Higher Level Skills Funding via the Queensland Government’s Skills Assure Program supports ELIGIBLE* students to obtain certification in Certificate IV or higher qualifications. The aim is to assist individuals in gaining the higher-level skills required to secure employment or career advancement in priority industries or transition to university to continue their studies. Students will be required to make a co-contribution fee (listed above) before the commencement of their course. Enrol

Apply for the course you want with College Australia by completing the quick and easy online Enrolment Form. Click on the link below and choose the relevant qualification. When we receive your application, we will send you an email regarding the pre-enrolment eligibility requirements, including a Language Literacy and Numeracy assessment, Recognition of Prior Learning application and an outline of documentation required for your enrolment to proceed.

Meet your mentor

We will call you to confirm details, discuss eligibility, workplace and assessment requirements and ensure everything is correct.

This interview forms part of your orientation into your course and will allow you to ask further questions.

You will then be required to make payment.

Once payment is received, we will then send you the Confirmation of Enrolment (COE). This Includes details of your Educator and your Training Plan outlining the units you are undertaking and due dates

Commence your studies

You will receive an email with your login details. Remember these details and bookmark the login URL in your browser. Logging in will give you access to your first unit in the online portal.
